TCC announces aid for Gwadar Cyclone Phet affectees


Quetta June 11, 2010: Quetta June 11, 2010: The Tethyan Copper Company (TCC) has announced aid worth Rs. 8.5 million for 1200 families who were affected by the cyclone that hit the coastal areas of Balochistan earlier this week.

According to TCC, the aid will include food items, clean drinking water, tents, water tanks and other important items which will be distributed with the cooperation of the district administration, under the arrangements of the National Rural Support Program Pakistan (NRSP).

TCC is standing right beside the victims and is determined to fully support them in this difficult time. Previously in 2007, TCC also provided the victims of the floods in Chaghai with aid worth Rs.7.5 million and in 2008 donated Rs.10 million for the victims of the earthquakes in Ziarat. TCC along with the Government of Baluchistan is working on the Reko Diq copper and gold project at district of Chagai.
